Abdul Fatawu: Ghana cameo shows exactly why Leicester can still avoid Championship relegation
Abdul Fatawu put in an excellent performance during Ghana’s 2-1 defeat to Germany on Monday.
The Championship star came off the bench to score the only goal for the West African side as they were unable to avoid a loss.
However, the performance was an improvement on last week’s 5-1 thrashing against Austria.
While players like Antoine Semenyo did not impress, Fatawu had a brilliant cameo off the bench.
Below, Football Insider has explored how his international display proves that Leicester City can still avoid relegation.
Abdul Fatawu continues to show quality
Going into the international break, things do look grim for Leicester.
The Foxes currently sit in the bottom three in the Championship and are on point from safety.
Abdul Fatawu’s stats vs Germany Minutes 24 Goals 1 Shots 1 Touches in the opposition box 1 Dribble success rate 100% Ground duels won 1 Dispossessed 0
On top of this, victories are seemingly impossible to come by, with Gary Rowett overseeing just one so far in his reign.
However, if Fatawu can replicate his performances for Ghana, there is no chance the Foxes will go down.
During his short time on the pitch, he managed to complete all of his dribbles, had one touch inside the opposition’s box, won a ground duel, and was not dispossessed once.

His goal was also excellently taken, sliding the ball into the bottom corner with a first-time finish.
Simply put, if this clinical nature can continue, results and wins will come Leicester’s way, and there is simply no chance they will go down.
What are the odds of Leicester getting relegated?
According to Opta on 30 March, Leicester are not the favourites to end the season in the bottom three.
The Foxes currently have a 43.62 per cent chance of going down, the fourth highest in the division.
As it stands, Oxford United and Portsmouth are predicted to join Sheffield Wednesday, with the supercomputer giving them a 60.94 per cent and 52.34 per cent chance of finishing the season in the bottom three.
Blackburn Rovers are not ruled out of the race yet, with a 26.14 per cent chance. However, the odds of West Brom going down have been dramatically reduced to 16.44 per cent after their recent victories.
Nevertheless, it remains to be seen who will make up the bottom three, with plenty of twists and turns expected after the international break.
