Chris Jack: Rangers see loaned out player as part of jigsaw at Ibrox still as uncertainty grows

Rangers believe that Findlay Curtis can be one part of their attacking jigsaw next season amid uncertainty over the futures of several players.

Curtis made his Rangers debut as an 18-year-old in January 2025 in the Scottish Cup before chalking up his first bows in the Scottish Premiership and then in Europe.

After making just one start in the league this season, the 19-year-old was shipped out on loan to Kilmarnock in January, where he is beginning to make his mark.

Amid the uncertainty over the futures of Rangers loanees Mikey Moore and Andreas Skov Olsen, in addition to summer signing Djeidi Gassama, it seems the door is set to open for Curtis long-term.

As per Chris Jack for the Rangers Review, the Bears see Curtis being utilised as a left winger for years to come, despite being something of a Swiss Army Knife in his fledgling career.

Indeed, he has been deployed on the right and left of midfield, as a forward, and even at right-back this season.

Jack adds that despite interest from League One in England and the Scottish Championship, as well as from Dundee and Livingston, Kilmarnock was Curtis’ first pick.

Moreover, Rangers were happy to reunite him with Neil McCann, who was a coach at the Gers before taking up the post at Killie earlier this year.

It’s noted that given the uncertainty over the futures of Skov Olsen, Gassama, and Moore, Curtis is “one piece of the jigsaw” ready to be put back into place.

Rangers reportedly wanted to keep Curtis in the Scottish Premiership to monitor his development at this level, and it seems they like what they are seeing.

It’s also led to his first senior Scotland call-up for this break.

Mikey Moore opens door to Rangers move

Hopes were high for Moore when he swapped Tottenham for Rangers on a season-long loan last summer, but he may have exceeded those expectations so far.

The 18-year-old scored his sixth goal for the Ibrox club during Saturday’s 4-1 rout of Aberdeen, as they maintained their three-point gap behind leaders Hearts.

The teenager received rapturous applause when he was replaced late on, and as this Sofascore graphic below shows, it is easy to see why.

Moore said he feels the love from the Rangers fans and opened to the door to a return to Ibrox next season, as Tottenham struggle to maintain their Premier League status.

“I’ve loved every single second I’ve been here. The club is special and special to me now. I’m just going to enjoy the next seven games, and obviously I need to speak to people back home, and you never know what can happen,” he said.

“This has been unbelievable, and if it’s right for me next year, then I’d love to stay here, but we have to see what’s going on.”

Curtis and Moore together could be a potent mix, but first, it’s all about Danny Rohl bringing home the Scottish Premiership title before those plans can start to take shape.
