Crysencio Summerville injury update ahead of West Ham vs Man City
Crysencio Summerville has been ruled out of West Ham’s Premier League match against Manchester City this Saturday due to a calf injury.
The 24-year-old was brought on as a half-time substitute against Brentford in the FA Cup fifth round on Monday night as West Ham won on penalties.
The Dutch winger was forced off during extra time after suffering a knock to his calf but after receiving treatment he was able to finish the game, although he did not take a penalty in the shootout.
Speaking on Thursday, West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo revealed that Summerville, who has scored seven goals in his last 11 appearances, will now miss his side’s game at home to City this weekend.
‘So we have Summerville who is out,’ Nuno said.
‘We will assess him day by day, see how he goes, but he’s not going to be available for the game.’

Asked if he has a timeline on Summerville’s return, Nuno replied: ‘We assess day by day, see how he goes, keep improving, we’re going to miss him, he’s an important player for us but this game, for sure, we don’t have him.’
Asked if he regrets sending Summerville back on the pitch after he suffered his injury, Nuno said: ‘I regret many things, but no, it’s nothing to do with that, it can happen in one minute at any moment.
‘What is for sure is that when he came in he was a big help for the team and really did well, as he’s been doing well for many, many games before, he’s been huge for us.’
West Ham currently sit 18th in the Premier League, level on points with Nottingham Forest who are in 17th, while Tottenham are just one point ahead.
