Danny Rohl contract situation: All Rangers fans need to know amid sack talk
Danny Rohl’s future at Rangers has been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks.
Rohl had an electric start to his Ibrox spell, taking the Auchenhowie side right back into Scottish Premiership title contention.
However, the wheels have started to fall off, and his side now sit six points off league leaders Hearts and were knocked out of the Scottish Cup by Celtic on 8 March.
Ibrox News looks at Rohl’s contract situation with Rangers amid the talk of him potentially being sacked.

What is Rohl’s contract status with Rangers?
Rohl was appointed as Rangers manager on 20 October 2025, succeeding Russell Martin, who was sacked after just 17 matches in charge.
The former Sheffield Wednesday boss inked a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Govan outfit, which will run until 30 June 2028.

Whether he sees out that deal, though, remains to be seen.
What has been said about Rohl sack?
Gary Keown claimed that Rohl was under pressure after the cup defeat to Celtic, saying: “The German is under real pressure to prove he is the right kind of coach to take Rangers forward.”
Keith Jackson also believes that Rohl will be in trouble if the Gers do not win the league, then are beaten in the first Old Firm clash.
The Daily Record journalist reacted to that claim from a supporter, saying: “A 100 per cent he’s right. I hate to say this, but he’s made a good point.”
Ewen Cameron believes that Rohl will be replaced in the summer by either Steven Gerrard or Frank Lampard.
Speaking on STV Radio Football Show on 9 March, he said: “I would suggest that he will not be the manager in the summer.
“I think that either Steven Gerrard or Frank Lampard will be in the hot seat at Ibrox for the start of the new season.”
How do the board feel about Rohl’s position?
Despite the sack speculation, Rohl seems to be safe for now, as he is rated highly by chairman Andrew Cavenagh.
Jackson claimed that the businessman has faith in the manager on the Daily Record Hotline on 3 March, saying: “I think that Andrew Cavenagh is backing him. I think that they have been impressed by him.
“They have seen a sort of material improvement in the performance level and in the recruitment.
“The team looks stronger.”
How has Rohl performed at Rangers?
Rohl has performed extraordinarily since he joined the Gers, especially in the league.
He has won 14 league matches, taking the most points of any manager in the division since he came into the role, per Sofascore.

He was put into an impossible position in the Europa League, as the Light Blues had lost their first four games in the competition, before he was placed in charge.
The Gers’ performance against the Hoops last time out was underwhelming but the progress that they have made under his leadership is undeniable.
He must be given a proper chance to turn things around, not dismissed after half a season in the dugout.
