Emmanuel Fernandez: Rangers star’s impressive stats vs Aberdeen explain Premier League interest
Emmanuel Fernandez is reportedly attracting Premier League interest, and it is easy to see why after his performance as Rangers beat Aberdeen on Saturday.
Danny Rohl’s team won 4-1 at Ibrox, closing the gap to just three points from Hearts at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
Tochi Chukwuani got the scoring underway with a great strike from the edge of the box, before Mikey Moore added a second after half-time.
Dennis Geiger’s finish saw nerves invade Ibrox, but Nicolas Raskin’s goal and James Tavernier’s stunning free-kick would ensure the points stayed with the Gers.
Rangers transfer chiefs are bracing for summer interest in Fernandez and several players, with Premier League clubs reportedly prowling.

Emmanuel Fernandez impresses vs Aberdeen
Football Insider exclusively revealed this week that West Ham are interested in Fernandez amid several other Premier League sides.
The 24-year-old’s performances earlier this season raised plenty of questions, but Saturday’s display showcased just how far he has come.
Emmanuel Fernandez vs Aberdeen Minutes played 90 Accurate passes 56/64 Chances created 1 Accurate long balls 5/7 Tackles 1 Interceptions 2 Duels won 5/9
The defender has become a key part of Rohl’s backline in recent months, and he was key to preventing any slip-up against Aberdeen.
Fernandez completed four clearances and a massive seven recoveries on the day, while winning the majority of his duels.
On the ball, the 24-year-old was assured and confident, completing 88 per cent of his passes and firing six into the final third.
It cost Rangers £3million to sign Fernandez from Peterborough in the summer – a deal that received a significant amount of questions.
But the centre-back’s form has answered those questions emphatically, with his first senior call-up for Nigeria this week proving a worthy reward.
How much could Rangers get for Fernandez?
Rangers will not be willing to roll over for a team looking to sign Fernandez in the summer transfer window, even if the player wants the move.
The defender is under contract until 2029, with there reportedly being an option to extend the deal a further 12 months on top of that.
Rangers’ record sale – Calvin Bassey – joined Ajax in a deal worth £19.6m in 2022 – a fee in the region that decision-makers would likely hope to accept for Fernandez.
But at 24, the defender still has plenty of room to grow, and could even see a more significant fee arrive at Ibrox in the coming years.
