Everton in frame to sign record-breaking PL striker who's set to leave current club - report

Everton have emerged as a possible landing spot for Raul Jimenez should he leave Fulham this summer.

The Mexico international is due to be out of contract at Craven Cottage at the end of the campaign, meaning he will be available on a free transfer as things stand.

Jimenez has performed well for Fulham this season, having scored eight goals and assisted three more in 27 Premier League appearances.

But it looks like the 34-year-old will soon be seeking pastures new, with a move to another Premier League club his priority.

Raul Jimenez wants Premier League stay as Everton eye deal

Jimenez holds the Premier League record for the most penalties scored without missing, extending that streak with his 13th in a row against Sunderland recently.

The Mexican has 67 goals in the competition overall, coming across 224 appearances for Wolves and more recently Fulham.

As per a report by El Futbolero Mexico, citing reporter Kery Ruiz, there is little chance of Jimenez returning to his homeland after the World Cup this summer.

Instead, the 34-year-old is said to want to prolong his time in the Premier League with a move to another club.

Everton are cited as a possible landing spot for Jimenez, along with Fulham’s London rivals West Ham United.

Jimenez’s desire to stay in the Premier League is said to “complicate” any talk of a return to Mexico anytime soon, with Club America – where he started his career – having been linked.

It is also reported that, while his Fulham exit is not 100 per cent locked in yet, his representatives are already exploring options to keep him in the Premier League.

Jimenez’s Premier League record explored – a good option for Everton?

Beto has struggled at Hill Dickinson Stadium, while Thierno Barry is also not a prolific forward, even if he does occasionally chip in with goals.

It is clear that Everton therefore need another striker in the summer, and one available on a free – not including agent fees and wages, of course – would be very much welcome.

But is Jimenez really the right type of option for Everton to go after? As can be seen in the Sofascore graphic higher up this page, Jimenez averages a rating of 6.95 across his career in the Premier League.

For context, Beto averages 6.49 this season and Barry 6.50, so Jimenez is – on the face of it – a better option than both.

It may not exactly get supporters excited, but bringing in Jimenez on a free does make a lot of sense.

And if a second striker can be brought in over the summer, David Moyes’ attack would instantly be upgraded for the 2026-27 season.
