Everton scouts spotted tonight as they jet out of England ahead of deadline - report

Everton have been one of the quieter Premier League teams in the winter transfer window.

David Moyes has faced several issues in recent weeks, with Jack Grealish’s severe foot injury the latest of a long line of problems at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Despite that, Harrison Armstrong’s recall on loan from Preston is the most significant piece of business.

With the transfer deadline quickly approaching on 2 February, though, it appears that Everton scouts are looking to get some deals over the line.

That is where the Europa League showdown between Dinamo Zagreb and FC Midtjylland comes into play on Thursday evening.

Scouts in Attendance reshared the list of English clubs attending the match, with Middlesbrough and Ipswich noted from the Championship.

Indkast shared more details, though, revealing that Everton were joined by Bundesliga giants, Borussia Dortmund and Monchengladbach at the MCH Arena.

Despite the sub-zero temperatures in Denmark, it didn’t stop possible transfer developments.

Who could Everton be watching?

Franculino Dju was linked with Everton ahead of the winter window, but the striker wasn’t available as the Danes won 2-0 on 29 January.

A striker may not be a priority for the Toffees now that Thierno Barry is firing, scoring yet another goal in the 1-1 draw against Leeds last time out.

With Jarrad Branthwaite, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Iliman Ndiaye and Idrissa Gueye also returning in that draw, Moyes finally has more options to choose from.

So, that may get rid of any idea that a late transfer is on the cards ahead of Monday.

Everton could just be getting their shortlist for the summer, when PSR finally ends, and the new squad cost ratio rules are brought into force instead.

The Friedkins did back Moyes heavily in the summer, and with positive results still being collected around a turbulent squad, there isn’t a desperate need to reinforce again.

With little time left for deals, prices will be rising, and it may be better for Toffees’ fans to accept what they’ve got and look forward to the summer.
