Everton to eye up late replacement for exit-linked player - Sky Sports

Nottingham Forest are looking to sign Dwight McNeil from Everton in the final hours of the winter transfer window.

The Englishman has struggled for game time at the Toffees this season, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him leave before the 2 February deadline.

McNeil was hooked off at half-time against Leeds United, with the forward struggling in the 1-1 Premier League draw on 26 January.

David Moyes may be without Jack Grealish for the rest of the season, but the former Burnley ace could still be on his way out of the Merseyside outfit.

Sean Dyche wants to reunite with McNeil at Forest after working with him at Burnley and the Toffees, according to Sky Sports.

The news outlet reports on 30 January that the Tricky Trees are considering making a late move to bring the Englishman from the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

It’s been claimed that the Blues will have to first sign a replacement for the 26-year-old before thinking about parting ways with him.

McNeil may yet have a role to play under Moyes, with Grealish likely out for a significant period.

Iliman Ndiaye and Tyler Dibling are now the only two fit natural wingers at the Scottish manager’s disposal apart from the former Burnley ace.

The Merseyside outfit are being diligent by waiting to reinforce their attack before making any decision on McNeil’s departure.

Dwight McNeil replacement already identified at Everton

Chelsea winger Tyrique George is attracting interest from Everton, with Moyes looking to sign the youngster on loan.

The England Under-21 international has struggled for game time at Stamford Bridge this season, and his prospects since Enzo Maresca’s departure don’t seem any different.

Georgeis a versatile attacker capable of playing in multiple positions up front, and his versatility would undoubtedly come in handy at the Merseyside outfit.

The Toffees should consider attacking reinforcements regardless of McNeil’s situation, but it remains to be seen whether The Friedkin Group will back Moyes financially.
