Everton told likelihood of securing deal for highly-rated teenager in summer window - report
Everton could be looking to sign a new midfielder in the summer transfer window, but it appears Nathan De Cat will not be coming to Hill Dickinson.
David Moyes’ side are currently embroiled in an intense battle to qualify for Europe, and their league position could weaken or strengthen their hand in the upcoming transfer window.
The Toffees will be looking to improve their options and stake a claim to be a consistent battler in the upper parts of the Premier League.
Young prospects such as the 17-year-old De Cat could help build their future, as the Blues have been mentioned in a report out of Belgium in relation to an Everton transfer.

What are Everton’s chances of signing Nathan De Cat?
Everton’s name has been brought up in relation to a move for De Cat, but as quickly as they have been mentioned, hopes have been dashed.
Filip Joos, a Belgian journalist, has mooted Everton’s prospects of landing a deal for Nathan De Cat, but it is bad news for the Toffees.
Joos has been speaking about De Cat’s future, as a move away this summer looks likely, and via Voetballkrant, he said: “It won’t be Leeds United or Everton.”
If the Blues are intent on signing a defensive midfielder in the summer, they may now be best looking elsewhere instead of wasting their time on the Anderlecht midfielder.
James Garner has been exceptional in that role this season; however, Idrissa Gana Gueye’s contract is set to expire this summer.
If the Senegalese midfielder does leave, the Toffees will need to find a suitable replacement, and links to De Cat in that regard make perfect sense.
What is the latest on Idrissa Gueye’s Everton future?
While the 36-year-old’s deal expires in 2026, the Merseyside outfit do have an option to extend it by one year.
If they do not feel too confident of landing a successor and they feel Gueye has impressed enough, Everton could end up triggering that option.
Despite his age, the midfielder has shown no signs of slowing down and has been an important player for Moyes in the Toffees’ pursuit of Europe.

A younger player like De Cat may do well for the future, but in the immediate coming months, Gueye can certainly still do the job.
One thing is for sure: if Everton qualify for Europe, their summer will be a busy one as they look to improve their depth and quality.
