Everton transfer state of play: Done deals and possible next incomings and outgoings

David Moyes is still waiting for his first new Everton signing of the winter transfer window.

Harrison Armstrong was recalled from his loan deal with Preston North End early in the window, which has felt like Moyes’ only real signing.

The Toffees let young goalkeeper Harry Tryer depart for Cardiff City on an undisclosed fee, as Will Tamen joined League Two side Tranmere Rovers on loan to continue his development.

It’s been quiet on the arrivals front for the Blues so far, but Moyes will be hoping for the Friedkin Group to up their game in the final few days of the window.

Without further ado, Goodison News brings you Everton‘s current transfer state of play before Monday’s 7:00 pm deadline.

Who could Everton sign before the deadline?

Everton want to sign a new right-back before the end of the window, as multiple names have already been mentioned.

Bayern Munich’s Sacha Boey has cropped up in conversation, while Blackburn Rovers’ Ryan Alebiosu could also move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium this month.

Bologna’s Emil Holm has been mentioned, and there’s still a possibility for the Toffees to sign Genoa’s Brooke Norton-Cuffy.

Jake O’Brien has been playing at right-back, and the Friedkin Group are aware that it’s a position that needs to be improved.

Everton have been heavily linked with Fenerbahce’s Youssef En-Nesyri, and the Blues could go for the striker once more with his move to Juventus currently stalling.

Romelu Lukaku has been tipped for a sensational reunion with Moyes, but as things stand, there has been no further movement for the former Goodison Park hero, who is struggling for minutes with Napoli.

However, Thierno Barry’s recent resurgence may have stalled Angus Kinnear and Co’s plans to sign a new number nine in the coming days.

Everton have also been mooted to make a move for Middlesbrough’s Hayden Hackney. But the Toffees would have to break Boro’s ‘not for sale’ stance to pry the midfielder to Merseyside so late on in the window.

Who could still leave Everton?

Tyler Dibling’s move from Southampton hasn’t worked out so far, but there is still plenty of time for the youngster to improve.

The right-winger has been tipped for a loan switch back to the Saints, but no offer has been made.

Manchester United have been backed to make a late swoop for Iliman Ndiaye, but if Everton were to sell their key man, they could risk destroying their whole season.

Everton rejected Juventus’ loan move to sign Beto, but if the Blues were to bring in another centre-forward, then the former Udinese man could leave.

Everton also knocked back Lazio’s approach for Tim Iroegbunam, with the suggestion that the midfielder will stay as Armstrong is set to join Preston on loan for the remainder of the campaign.

Lots and twists and turns are yet to happen for other sides, and Everton will surely be involved in all of the drama that’s set to unfold in the final days of the transfer window.
