Everton's behind-the-scenes financial situation revealed as key for long-term stay of Moyes' star man - report

Everton have seen their financial situation take a big boost since the arrival of the Friedkin Group, and it could help keep Iliman Ndiaye.

Dan Friedkin sanctioned the signings of Tyler Dibling, Thierno Barry, Jack Grealish, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall last summer, a big increase on spending from what the Toffees are usually used to.

Not only that, but the Blues managed to hold onto Ndiaye, who was gaining interest on the back of his first season in an Everton shirt.

The winger has been putting his name into the history books since coming to Merseyside, and many Blues fans want to see him stay for at least one more year.

Premier League clubs are interested in Ndiaye, but it sounds like the only thing that could tempt the Toffees to sell would be a ludicrous offer for the forward.

Everton ‘well-placed’ to keep Iliman Ndiaye

It’s hard to argue against the fact that without Ndiaye, the Toffees would probably not be currently pushing for a spot in European football next season.

The 26-year-old seems to only be getting better under Moyes, and it’s no coincidence that Everton’s worst period of form came when he was away with Senegal for the African Cup of Nations over the winter.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton are “well-placed” to fend off interest for Ndiaye, as not only is the left-winger under contract until 2029, but the club is now operating on a much more stable financial footing.

The likes of Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in Ndiaye, and so long as the attacker wants to stay, he could remain at Hill Dickinson Stadium for multiple seasons yet.

How Ndiaye could be like Jarrod Bowen to David Moyes

It’s no secret that Everton’s ultimate goal under Moyes is to qualify and try to win a European trophy under Moyes.

Though the 62-year-old is often criticised for what’s seen by some as dated tactics, the results pay off, and that’s what Blues fans want to see.

West Ham won their first major European trophy under Moyes, and made the mistake of getting rid of him for reasons over his philosophy.

Jarrod Bowen was Moyes’ key man during that run for silverware, and the similarities between the West Ham skipper and Ndiaye are uncanny.
