Gabby Agbonlahor shares what Everton need to do in new prediction v Chelsea

Gabby Agbonlahor has predicted that Chelsea will beat Everton in the Premier League on Saturday.

David Moyes will welcome the Londoners to the Hill Dickinson Stadium as he looks to bounce back from defeat against Arsenal last time out.

Chelsea have endured a terrible week themselves, losing against Newcastle before being hammered by Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

Everton are pushing for Europe and will want to return to winning ways after their recent successes over Newcastle and Burnley in the Premier League.

Agbonlahor believes that it will be Chelsea who bounce back from defeat on Merseyside, however, with a heavy 3-1 scoreline suggested.

Speaking via talkSPORT, the former Villa forward insisted that Everton really need to start winning games at their new stadium if they want to kick on.

“Everton need to improve their form at home in the Premier League, having only won five of their 15 home games at their new stadium,” Agbonlahor said.

“Chelsea, on the other hand, will want to build on their last away win, which was 4-1 at Villa Park.

“I predict a 3-1 win to Chelsea.”

How does European race look in Premier League?

Victory over Chelsea would take Everton only two points behind their next opponents in sixth, with seventh likely enough for Conference League football too.

Brentford currently occupy that spot, and they travel to Leeds in the Saturday late kick-off after Everton’s next showdown, so all eyes will be on that.

Ahead of those two facing each other after the international break, Moyes knows that a couple of wins over the two teams above the Blues could be critical.

James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite could return for Everton, which would be a huge boost in their hunt for another massive three points.

Everybody around the Merseyside club knows that their home form hasn’t been good enough, but they are still well in that European race with only eight games to go.

Starting on Saturday, Everton need to bring their ruthless away streak into familiar territory, with Chelsea and Liam Rosenior there for the taking again.

Forget Agbonlahor, it’s time for another big-name scalp.
