'Hate to say this' - Reliable journo says fan 100% right about Rohl at Rangers

Keith Jackson believes the daggers will be out for Danny Rohl if Rangers lose the first Old Firm derby next season.

One apparent Gers fan wrote in that the German manager could potentially be fighting for his job at Ibrox if he fails to win the William Hill Premiership and loses the first game to Celtic in the upcoming campaign.

The Daily Record journalist responded on Hotline Live that the Rohl will surely be under extreme pressure if things don’t go his way in the coming months.

Speaking on Hotline Live on 9 March, Jackson said, “A 100 per cent he’s right. I hate to say this, but he’s made a good point.”

Some supporters already want Rohl to leave Ibrox, and the scrutiny around the former 36-year-old’s job will arguably increase if he can’t find success soon.

Danny Rohl his own worst enemy after what’s happened at Rangers

It’s been almost five months since Rohl was appointed at the Gers, and they’ve looked dominant in only a handful of games under him.

The German manager has opted to switch between multiple formations since taking over at the Light Blues, but still hasn’t found a system to consistently bring the best out of the squad.

Fans in G51 have also been left frustrated with the Glaswegian outfit’s inability to take control of the big matches, with Rohl’s in-game management being questioned.

The atmosphere around can get pretty toxic — just ask Russell Martin — and the former Sheffield Wednesday boss may be in line for similar treatment.

Rohl can’t take his position at the Govan side for granted despite bringing them back into title contention this season, and his future will be one to keep an eye on.

Andrew Cavenagh may already have Danny Rohl replacement on hand at Ibrox

Steven Gerrard has been predicted to replace Rohl, with the Liverpool icon being heavily linked with a return to Ibrox since the American takeover.

The former England midfielder seemed to be in contention before Martin was handed the reins at Rangers and was once again an option for Andrew Cavenagh before the former Sheffield Wednesday manager’s arrival.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see talks of Gerrard coming back to the Gers gain more traction if things go downhill in G51.

Ibrox can be a very demanding place, and Rohl may find that out the hard way.
