Ian Wright makes bold prediction for Leeds vs Arsenal
Ian Wright is confident Arsenal will return to winning ways when they take on Leeds United on Saturday.
The Gunners had the chance to move nine points clear at the top of the Premier League two weeks ago but after a sobering defeat at home to Manchester United last time out, that lead has been reduced to four.
Both Manchester City and Aston Villa are now how on their heels with a nervy Arsenal picking up just one league win in 2026.
They head to Elland Road on Saturday afternoon where Leeds have already beaten Chelsea and drawn with Liverpool and Manchester United this season with Daniel Farke’s side suffering just one defeat in their last 10 – that coming in a 4-3 thriller away to Newcastle United.
Arsenal comfortably swept Leeds to one side in the reverse fixture at the Emirates back in August but the circumstances are very different this time around with pressure growing on Mikel Arteta’s side.
Their usually resolute defence has also shipped five goals in their last two matches – three against United with Kazakhstan champions Kairat scoring twice in a 3-2 defeat at the Emirates midweek.
But Arsenal legend Wright has backed his old side to steady the ship this weekend.

Giving his prediction on the Stick to Football podcast, Wright said: ‘No, I am not giving no goals. Just gave three away, we are not giving no more.
‘2-0. 2-0 to my team because they are coming back this week. Vengeance.’

Arteta is expected to have a fully fit squad to choose from this weekend after William Saliba and Jurrien Timber missed the Champions League game on Wednesday with minor issues.
Arsenal can open up a seven point lead at the top if they take care of business at Elland Road with the sides around them not in action until Sunday.
Aston Villa face a tough test at home against Brentford while Arsenal will be looking for their arch-rivals Tottenham to do them a favour when they host City.
