Ibrox View: 26-y/o rewarded as Rohl makes changes - Rangers predicted XI vs Motherwell

Rangers are gearing up for a pivotal end to the season, with the visit of Motherwell marking the start of their final five matches.

Danny Rohl’s side stayed in touch with league leaders Hearts before the split thanks to a thrilling 6-3 victory away to Falkirk.

Now back at Ibrox, the Gers host Jens Berthel Askou’s Motherwell, a side that has earned plenty of praise for its football this term.

With looming clashes against Hearts and Celtic on the horizon, Rangers know the importance of maintaining momentum as the title race reaches its defining stage.

Second in the table as things stand, the Govan outfit must overcome a formidable Motherwell side if they are to keep the pressure on at the top.

Danny Rohl to make changes as Rangers welcome Motherwell

Before the short break, Rohl’s side stormed to a 6-3 victory over Falkirk.

But they were forced to produce a dazzling attacking display to do it, having fallen 2-0 behind on the road.

Heading into the weekend, the Rangers manager offered a fitness update on Tuur Rommens and Ryan Naderi, with the German still hopeful both could yet have a role to play in the title run-in.

Rommens returned to training during the recent break, although Sunday’s meeting with Motherwell may come too soon for the Belgian.

There were fears Naderi faced a lengthy spell on the sidelines after he was forced off shortly after scoring his first league goal against Dundee United.

But in an encouraging twist, his recovery has progressed more quickly than expected, with the head coach suggesting he could be back within the next few weeks, even if no firm timescale has been set.

That could open the door for Bojan Miovski to earn a deserved chance, with the 26-year-old having struck three times in his last two appearances off the bench.

Meanwhile, Bailey Rice remains the sole long-term absentee at Ibrox, leaving Rohl with almost a full squad at his disposal for the closing stretch of the campaign.

Rangers’ title hopes to be decided over next few games

With the season reaching its crunch point, Rangers simply must make the best possible start if they are to keep their momentum rolling.

On the final day of the campaign, the Gers will travel to Falkirk once again, but it is the run between that fixture and Sunday’s meeting with Motherwell that looks likely to decide the title.

Assuming they can claim three points this weekend, Rohl’s side will then turn their attention to daunting trips to Hearts and Celtic in the space of a week.

At the top of the table, the three clubs remain locked together, and there is a significant psychological edge up for grabs this weekend. Celtic host Falkirk, while Hearts face Hibs in the Edinburgh derby.

For Rangers, however, the task is to build momentum now, and a result against Motherwell could prove invaluable in the title race.
