Ibrox View: Gassama transfer plan surely clear as Rangers make exit decision
Djeidi Gassama has been the subject of significant interest in the winter transfer window.
Rangers rejected a loan-to-buy offer from Monaco, which included an option to purchase the Ibrox star for a fee of £10million.
The Gers signed the ex-Sheffield Wednesday star for £2.2m, and it would have been a healthy profit if they had agreed to let the 22-year-old leave.
His future may well be linked to another Light Blues ace, who has also been touted for a departure.

Rangers make Findlay Curtis loan decision
Findlay Curtis was linked with a Rangers loan exit throughout this window, and it appears that he will finally depart.
Chris Jack, from the Rangers Review, claimed on 30 January that the 19-year-old is set to join Kilmarnock on loan.
He states that official confirmation of the temporary switch is expected to come shortly.
Why Curtis exit means Gassama is going nowhere
The idea that had been floated in recent weeks was that the Gers were reluctant to let Curtis leave, in case Gassama ended up being sold, and they lacked reinforcements.
The fact that the young gem is being sent out on loan suggests that there are no fears of the France Under-20 ace going anywhere in this window, despite the interest in his services.
Curtis was touted as cover for the former Paris Saint-Germain man, and if he is allowed to compete a loan exit, surely there is no way that both can go, so the plan for Gassama is clear, he is going nowhere.
The news is positive for Gers supporters for two reasons, Gassama will be a key aspect of the Light Blues’ fight for the Scottish Premiership title, and their homegrown star gets the regular game time that he needs in the top-flight.
Competitions Appearances Minutes Scottish Premiership 10 194 Europa League 4 119 Scottish Cup 1 90 League Cup 2 9 Champions League qualifying 4 184
Curtis has struggled this season, making just 21 appearances for the Bears’ first-team, which is not enough for him to become a senior player for his boyhood club.
He will work with former Gers star Neil McCann at Rugby Park, which should help his development massively, and he should come back to Ibrox raring to go next season and ready to step up for Danny Rohl’s side.
