Ibrox View: Rangers to be confident about permanent exit of loanee after Euro club heroics

Danilo scored his first goal for NEC Nijmegen since leaving Rangers in the winter transfer window on Sunday.

Goffertstadion hosted Feyenoord in the Eredivisie on 12 April, with the Gers loanee equalising in the 97th minute to secure a point for his team in the 1-1 draw.

The Brazilian striker has struggled for consistent starts at the Dutch club in recent weeks, but he has finally gotten off the mark in the Netherlands, which will surely be a good omen for his future.

If the 27-year-old can continue to put in clutch performances for NEC until the end of the season, the Light Blues will be confident that the option to buy in his deal will be triggered.

Danny Rohl signed Ryan Naderi in the winter transfer window, which paved the way for Danilo’s exit, and the Glaswegian outfit will undoubtedly be looking to offload him on a permanent basis in the summer.

If Danilo does return to the Gers at the end of the 2025-26 campaign, he may have no place in Rohl’s plans.

Naderi and Youssef Chermiti have been the German manager’s preferred strike partnership over the last few months, with Bojan Miovski also coming into his own of late.

While the Brazilian ace has impressed some at the Govan side over the years with his finishing abilities, his lack of consistency and persistent fitness struggles have been frustrating for supporters.

The Glaswegian outfit will certainly want NEC to sign the centre-forward permanently, but if they don’t, he will surely be back on the market come the summer window.

Danny Rohl to be ruthless with another striker exit at Ibrox

Rangers may have lost Naderi for the run-in to win the William Hill Premiership title, with the former Hansa Rostock striker picking up an injury.

The German forward scored his first goal for the Gers against Dundee United, but it has become clear that he may not be the clinical number nine they need.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see the Light Blues pursue a new centre-forward in the upcoming transfer window, which could potentially lead to Miovski’s exit.

The North Macedonia international has picked up some form, but if the Glaswegian outfit have any hopes of competing regularly for titles, they need someone capable of getting around 30 goals a season.
