Ibrox View: Rohl should quash beef with Rangers player as possible crisis set
Danny Rohl should look to reinstate Derek Cornelius into his plans at Rangers for the final stretch of the season.
The German manager hasn’t relied on the Canada international since his return from injury and it looks like there’s no appetite from the Gers to trigger the option to buy him.
Rohl has had an apparent falling out with Cornelius, but it would certainly be helpful for the Light Blues if the former Sheffield Wednesday could squash his beef with the centre-back.
Nasser Djiga is expected to leave Ibrox at the end of the 2026-27 campaign, with the Glaswegian outfit not holding any option to get a deal over the line for him in the summer, something many fans in G51 would like to see.
Andrew Cavenagh is expected to back Rohl in the upcoming transfer window, but the recruitment team will arguably have an easier job if Cornelius stays.

Rangers head for defensive summer crisis
It wouldn’t be surprising to see the Gers being in a defensive crisis in the coming months, as Djiga and Cornelius could be on their way out.
That would leave Rohl with just two natural centre-backs in John Souttar and Emmanuel Fernandez, which wouldn’t be ideal for the Light Blues.

The Glaswegian outfit will undoubtedly have to loosen their purse strings to bolster their defence sooner rather than later.
While the main priority should be to sign Djiga permanently in the summer, if that isn’t possible, the idea of Cornelius returning to Ibrox would make sense, since he wouldn’t need to settle into Scottish football and has shown before his injury that he can be a valuable member of the squad.
Andrew Cavenagh forced to make another statement at Ibrox
Apart from signing new centre-backs, Rangers will surely need to reinforce their defence with full-backs.
Max Aarons and Jayden Meghoma will also return to their respective parent clubs, while James Tavernier’s contract expires in May.

Dujon Sterling has been defensively solid wherever he plays, but the Englishman’s persistent fitness issues make him an unreliable option.
Cavenagh may have to splash the cash to build a competitive squad for next season and retaining some of the players could make life easier for the Govan side.
