Imminent Igor Tudor sack mooted as Sean Dyche named as dream replacement

Tottenham Hotspur may be on the verge of sacking Igor Tudor already.

The Lilywhites are in dire straits right now, with the defeat against Atletico Madrid just being the icing on the cake.

A 5-2 loss away against Diego Simeone’s side saw Spurs concede four goals in the opening 22 minutes as mistake after mistake cost them once again.

That hasn’t reflected well on the interim head coach, who is now four without victory after being placed in temporary charge.

Tudor could soon face the sack at Tottenham, with Sean Dyche being mooted as a potential alternative at this stage.

Darren Bent wants Igor Tudor sacked

There is very little love lost for the Croatian right now after a dreadful start to life as manager in North London.

He was seemingly brought in due to his ability to turn sides around and get wins on the board, but that just hasn’t happened.

His man management was exposed against Atletico as he hung Antonin Kinsky out to dry, and that is the final straw for many supporters.

Former Spurs striker Darren Bent has echoed the feeling of many in N17 and has suggested that Dyche should now replace Tudor.

Speaking on talkSPORT ahead of Spurs’ latest loss, he said: “I think it’s enough now.

“They’ve looked worse [under Tudor]. I just don’t see it. I understand that people say ‘you can’t sack a manager when you’ve got no plan.’

“I agree with that, but at the same time, you can’t keep someone in the job knowing they’re not good enough just for the sake of ‘Well, we haven’t got anyone else, so we’ll keep him.’

“Results will not get any better under this manager, so they’re effectively just wasting games. Dyche is the one, that’s the one.”

Tottenham fans fumed at Tudor’s treatment of Kinsky, and that is just one thing on a long list that has turned fans against the temporary boss.

What has Tudor said about the Tottenham sack?

There seems to be an arrogance still in the mindset of the ex-Juventus boss, despite being humiliated so far in North London.

There have been no plus points about his Spurs tenure so far, and that has resulted in plenty of noise surrounding his job.

Tudor has now demanded that any discussion about the sack needs to end, even after being battered by Atletico.

He said: “It’s not about me. We need to stay calm. Less talking. Better less talking. Now is not the moment to try and give a big explanation.”

That won’t go down well in N17 and could make things worse for the Croatian and spark the hierarchy into making a change.

Could that see Dyche take over at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium?
