Insider: Liverpool move for West Ham star 'still on', his plan is made clear

Jarrod Bowen has no immediate plans to leave West Ham United this summer despite lingering interest from Liverpool and other Premier League clubs.

The Hammers’ ongoing relegation battle will likely decide his future, but while they remain outside of the bottom three, his future will remain at the London Stadium.

A number of clubs are believed to be keeping a close eye on the 29-year-old in case he does decide to leave, but his focus remains fully on helping his side out of the scrap.

Former West Ham scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Bowen will not leave East London as long as his side are still in the Premier League.

The England international is believed to be happy at the London Stadium and has close family links there, which will be key in a difficult window for West Ham.

Which clubs are interested in signing Jarrod Bowen?

Brown told Football Insider on 20 April that both Chelsea and Liverpool want to sign Bowen and are keeping a close eye on the Hammers’ situation.

A move across London to Stamford Bridge would likely suit his personal life best, but Liverpool’s long-term interest is not believed to have faded.

Despite the high-profile interest, though, Bowen remains focused and committed at West Ham and is determined to lead them to safety.

“Everybody knows about Bowen’s situation at West Ham,” Brown told Football Insider.

“He loves the club, he’s got his family connections there now and he’s settled in the area, so it would take a lot for him to leave at the moment.

“I don’t expect it’s even something he’s considering right now, the focus is on making sure West Ham stay in the Premier League, because that will be the difference.

“The only way I can see him moving on is if they get relegated, because Jarrod Bowen not going to want to play in the Championship next season given his ability.

“But if he can turn in some impressive performances between now and the end of the season to keep them up, I don’t see any way he would want to move on.

“I think there’s a pretty clear plan that he will want to stay at West Ham if he can, regardless of who might be interested in him.

“I expect that interest from Liverpool is still on given Salah has decided to move on, but as I say, Bowen isn’t looking to leave West Ham while they’re in the Premier League.”

Could West Ham look to cash in on Bowen?

Regardless of whether they remain in the Premier League this summer, West Ham are facing major financial concerns which could force them to cash in.

The Hammers have found themselves in a nightmare situation financially after reporting £104million losses and will need to sell players to balance the books.

Brown warned Football Insider last month that West Ham could be forced to sell Bowen as one of their most valuable players due to their current situation.

The England international would likely attract a higher fee than almost anybody else in the squad, and cashing in would be a huge boost to balance the books.

The likes of Crysencio Summerville and Mateus Fernandes have also been linked with big-money moves away, although fringe players are likely to be shifted first.
