'It's a new era' - Finch Farm gem speaks on bold Everton hopes amid confident pledge to Moyes

Harrison Armstrong knows that he can contribute to what could be a successful season for Everton.

The Finch Farm graduate has had arguably the best season of his short career so far, finding success on loan in the Championship with Preston North End, before earning a recall back to Hill Dickinson Stadium.

There was a lot of chatter about whether David Moyes would keep the 19-year-old beyond the January transfer window, with Preston interested in another loan move.

Moyes decided to keep Armstrong, and though it may be seen as controversial depending on what the latter does from now until the end of the season, it was ultimately done to aid Everton’s push for European football.

Harrison Armstrong reveals Everton ambitions

The Blues currently sit in eighth place in the Premier League with nine games to go, as Moyes prepares his side for a clash against Arsenal on Saturday.

Recent trends have seen the Everton boss sideline Armstrong, often bringing the youngster on in later stages of games, which has led to some uncomfortable questions.

Regardless, Armstrong believes he can still have an impact in what he sees as a season where the Toffees have no limits.

Armstrong said, as quoted by Liverpool Echo: “We’d be lying if we said we didn’t want to push on as a team. We’re focused on each game, and we hope it can take us as high up the table as possible.

“It’s a new era for the club [playing at Hill Dickinson Stadium], there’s pressure on us to perform there, as there should be.”

The youngster also admitted that he wants to repay the trust that David Moyes has shown in him through performances on the pitch, and is confident in himself to do so.

Everton have two scenarios which alter Armstrong’s future

Blues fans are all hopeful of a European tour next campaign, but though the projections look good, nothing in football is guaranteed.

The Toffees have to keep grinding away with results, and other cup success from English sides this season could either harm or aid their chances of getting where they want to be.

If Everton were to qualify for the Europa Conference League, for example, there is a high chance that Armstrong could remain at Hill Dickinson Stadium next season.

This is due to the number of games the Toffees will have added to their season schedule, as Moyes knows the importance of squad depth in seasons like this.

But the other side of it could see the midfielder leave on loan once more, if Everton aren’t able to make it over the finish line.
