“It’s emotional” – What Terem Moffi said after completing FC Porto switch from OGC Nice

Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi has expressed his delight at joining two-time UEFA Champions League winners FC Porto on loan from OGC Nice, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 26-year-old became an official Porto player two days ago. The move comes on the back of his decision to drag OGC Nice to the Ligue 1 judicial commission in a bid to leave the club after fans violently attacked him.

The French club's reaction to the situation didn't impress Moffi; as such, he sought an exit, and FC Porto came knocking.

The former Lorient striker is looking to contribute goals at Estádio do Dragão, but, most importantly, is grateful for the fresh breath of air the move will give him.

“I feel very proud to be here, to wear the colours of the club. It's really emotional for me, and I appreciate the president, the coach and the fans,” Moffi said in an interview posted on the club's official website.

“Porto are a club that always wants to win trophies, to win games in the Champions League and the Liga Portugal. We know how important this is to the fans and to the Porto family. It feels good to be here.

“Mr Francesco is a person who focuses on details; body shape, how you take the touch, where you take the touch into,” Moffi said after reuniting with his former manager.

“He's focused on the details to make you a better player. It's not a surprise to see what he's doing now.

“When he left, he went to Ajax as well, and he did great there. He's now at Porto doing something extraordinary, big ups to him.

“I think I just want to be happy playing football. When I'm happy, nothing matters to me anymore; that's when I'm at my best.

“I love scoring goals, working for my team and interacting with the fans.

“There are huge expectations, I know, but I think with the help of God, the goals they want to see will come,” the Super Eagles attacker concluded.
