Jack Grealish injury timeline revealed - Will he ever play for Everton again?

Jack Grealish’s injury has served as a major blow for Everton and their chances of progressing for the rest of the season.

Everton’s squad depth has been put to the test over the last few weeks, and that was on full display in the Toffees’ FA Cup defeat to Sunderland almost two weeks ago.

Injuries, suspensions and AFCON duty have completely ruined David Moyes’ squad, with things only just starting to look as though they were going to improve.

That was until Everton announced that Grealish had sustained a foot injury, with the full extent of the damage now revealed.

How long will Jack Grealish be out for?

Grealish has been one of, if not the most influential player at Everton this season, alongside the likes of Iliman Ndiaye and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Ironically, both of whom have been unavailable over the last few weeks.

So, for Grealish to have now joined the list of absentees is a huge blow for Everton, and perhaps an even bigger one than expected.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that the on-loan City winger is set to face three months on the sidelines as a result of a stress fracture in his foot.

With the season now well beyond the halfway mark, the question will be raised as to when the Toffees may be able to see him in action again, if at all.

Thankfully, the likelihood is that they will.

What game could Grealish return for at Everton?

Three months, or 12 weeks, is a long-term injury, though that could easily be when the Englishman returns to training, as opposed to matches.

Given the timing of it, Grealish would be expected to return to fitness on or around 12 April, which is less than a week before the Blues are due to face Liverpool.

For the 30-year-old to have got back to full fitness in time to face the Reds, his recovery would need to be perfect, with it looking as though a return against West Ham could be more likely on 25 April.

If that were to be the case, Everton may have him available for the last five games of the season.

Of course, Everton remain interested in signing Grealish on a permanent deal in the summer, meaning his last game for the Toffees could be years away yet.
