Jamie O’Hara can’t believe Igor Tudor latest as he demands Tottenham statement from Hotspur Way

Jamie O’Hara is staggered that Tottenham Hotspur didn’t sack Igor Tudor immediately after their Champions League humbling against Atletico Madrid.

Spurs’ nightmare campaign took another turn for the worse following a thumping 5-2 defeat at the Metropolitano in their last-16 first-leg tie on Tuesday night.

Tudor was lambasted for his handling of goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky, who was dragged off after making two mistakes inside the opening 15 minutes, and is under serious pressure.

But, as the dust settles on the embarrassment in Spain, the interim boss remains in post, despite speculation mounting that a shortlist of replacements has been drawn up.

Tottenham silent over Igor Tudor future

O’Hara has been left infuriated by the hesitation in N17, believing the trigger should have been pulled in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Supporters are unlikely to disagree with him, having watched their calamitous season stoop to new lows after a fourth-consecutive error-strewn performance under Tudor.

Delivering his withering verdict live on Sky Sports News, O’Hara said: “I can’t believe he’s not gone. That’s the worrying thing for me. How is there not breaking news that he’s gone?

“10 o’clock, 9 am, he should have been out the door. I can’t believe that he’s still there. I cannot believe Tottenham have not come out with a statement.

“This guy cannot be involved with this football club anymore. He can’t be around these players. These players are absolutely gone. The way they played last night says they’ve checked out.

“You have to get rid of him. He can’t be going into the training ground today and taking another session. He’s nowhere near good enough.”

Sean Dyche is the favourite for the Tottenham job after his odds tumbled overnight, while cult hero Mauricio Pochettino is not available until after this summer’s World Cup.

As a result, Spurs are likely to adopt the short-term route again if they part ways with Tudor.

Unwanted records tumble under Tudor

Tudor’s interim reign is continuing to shatter unwanted records.

Tuesday night’s defeat against Atletico was their sixth consecutive loss for the first time in the club’s 144-year history – but the embarrassment didn’t stop there.

According to Opta Joe, the Spaniards’ first three goals were the earliest a club has ever led by that margin in a Champions League knockout stage match.

Kinsky’s early change also made him the first starting goalkeeper ever in the Champions League to be substituted for non-injury reasons within the first 20 minutes of a game.

Clearly, then, O’Hara is right. Confidence is through the floor, and the players look to have surrendered under Tudor, leaving the board no choice but to act now.
