Journalist casts doubt on possible next Everton Women manager appointment after Phelan latest
Everton Women interim boss Scott Phelan may not get the role permanently amid a “difficult” season for the Toffees.
That is according to Megan Feringa of The Athletic, who exclusively told Goodison News that the 37-year-old may need to do more to get the job full-time.
Brian Sorensen was in charge of the Toffees for nearly four years before being sacked in February, having won just three out of 14 Women’s Super League games this season.
The Merseyside outfit had become a mid-table outfit in recent years, but never really looked like threatening to finish higher than that under the Dane.
Phelan then made the switch from Everton’s Under-18s to the Women’s team on a deal until the end of the season, and as it nears its conclusion, will Everton stick with the interim boss or look elsewhere?
