Key matches Daichi Kamada could miss as Oliver Glasner confirms Crystal Palace injury blow

Oliver Glasner has already confirmed that Crystal Palace will be without Daichi Kamada for several weeks with a fresh injury.

Kamada has yet to sign a new contract at Selhurst Park, but he remains an important part of the Eagles’ starting lineup, with 14 Premier League starts under his name this season.

While his goal contributions are non-existent this term, it has had very little impact for the current FA Cup holders, with Yeremy Pino taking over from Eberechi Eze in the final third.

Glasner is already with Daniel Munoz, and now Ismaila Sarr, who has joined up with the Senegal squad ahead of AFCON, so another major injury will be a huge blow for those at Selhurst Park.

Daichi Kamada to be sidelined for up to 10 weeks

After coming off in the 67th minute against Man City on Sunday, 14 December, the manager confirmed just how serious the injury is, and it does not sound good for the Japanese international.

He said, “It is how it looked when he walked off the pitch. It’s a serious hamstring injury, and he will be out for at least eight to 10 weeks. It’s not what we want, but on the other side, it’s part of football.

“It’s part of sports – when you play so many games that things can happen. It’s not a normal muscle injury; it was just an incident with his landing and body position.

“He overstretched everything, the full weight on the front, and that’s why it happens.”

If his injury is as serious as first thought, it could possibly see him return for the Premier League clash against Man United in late February, but he would need to regain fitness before that.
