Manchester United 3-2 Fulham: Benjamin Sesko wins it at the death for the Red Devils

Michael Carrick has continued his perfect start to his interim spell in charge of Manchester United with a dramatic 3-2 win over Fulham.

It looked like it was going to be a routine victory for the Red Devils at Old Trafford, as Casemiro and Matheus Cunha put them 2-0 ahead.

Casemiro’s header opened the scoring after 19 minutes, with Cunha powering an effort home shortly before the hour-mark.

Fulham kept scrapping, though, and a Raul Jimenez penalty gave them hope on 85 minutes after the Mexican won the spot-kick himself.

Substitute Kevin then scored a stunning equaliser as the match reached injury time, curling in a beautiful effort as he cut in from the left flank.

Just moments later, though, United broke down their right with Bruno Fernandes who found Benjamin Sesko and the substitute forward hammered home from inside the box.

They were wild scenes at Old Trafford, the likes of which had been seen so rarely under Ruben Amorim’s drab reign.

Manchester United return to fourth in the Premier League table with the win, now just five points behind Aston Villa after their defeat at home to Brentford.

Carrick has now won all three of his games since taking charge of the Red Devils, getting the better of Manchester City and Arsenal before this victory.

The charge for a return to the Champions League continues.

The Cottagers came so close to rescuing a point but go home with nothing and slip to eighth as the Bees go above them.
