Marc Leonard: Stats show Celtic target could be transformative signing at Parkhead
Marc Leonard is linked with a summer move to Celtic after impressing on loan to Hearts.
The Birmingham City star moved to Tynecastle in the winter window and has quickly established himself as a key player.
The 24-year-old impressed once again on Monday as Hearts beat Rangers 2-1, with the midfielder playing the full 90 minutes.
Now, the Daily Record on 5 May has confirmed that Celtic have upped their interest in Leonard, with Birmingham City set to demand a seven-figure fee.
However, this could be a bargain, with Leonard having the potential to be a transformative signing at Celtic.

Marc Leonard has some excellent Scottish Premiership stats
Despite only moving to the Scottish Premiership in the winter window, Leonard has already made a big impact.
According to Fotmob on 5 May, he is currently averaging a 0.12 xA, an 84.9 per cent passing accuracy, 0.26 big chances created, 6.18 duels won, 4.20 tackles and 6.57 recoveries per 90 minutes.

As a result, Leonard could prove to be a transformative signing for the Hoops.
The midfielder could add key defensive protection in front of the backline, while also providing a creative spark.
Currently, Celtic have no one capable of pulling this off, which has resulted in a leaky defensive record.
Therefore, Leonard could end one of the club’s biggest issues ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
With Celtic’s scouting network currently tracking him closely, the club will be hopeful about getting a deal over the line.
Which other midfielders have Celtic been linked to?
Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Celtic are also interested in Issa Doumbia, although they have fallen behind in the race.
The Venezia star was linked to the Hoops before the January transfer window, but the club did not pursue his signature.
Now, after continuing his form in Serie B, multiple Serie A and Premier League sides are also chasing his signature.
As a result, Celtic could now miss out on the midfielder, with the interest in Doumbia growing ahead of the summer.
However, it remains to be seen if they can tempt the star to Parkhead in the upcoming transfer window, in what could be some of the most important months in Celtic’s recent history.
