Maresca could 'reject' Tottenham offer and join Premier League rivals instead - expert
Enzo Maresca could reject any advances from Tottenham in the near future as he remains keen to land the Man City job when Pep Guardiola moves on.
Maresca is believed to have already held talks over the City job during his time at Chelsea, but is expected to be offered other opportunities in the meantime.
Former Tottenham scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Maresca is on Tottenham’s list of targets should the decide to part ways with Thomas Frank.
However, he is not the only boss on Spurs’ radar, with a number of potential targets being weighed up given the growing pressure on Frank’s position.
Uncertainty over whether the former Chelsea boss would be interested in taking over at Spurs has led to new doubts as he is likely set for a spell out of the game.

Enzo Maresca could snub Tottenham offer
Brown told Football Insider that Tottenham are interested in Maresca due to his Premier League experience and availability should Frank be sacked mid-season.
However, he is being lined up as the potential next Man City manager due to his connections with the club and may decide to hold out for their offer.
“Tottenham will have a look at Maresca, I’m sure,” Brown told Football Insider.
“I’m not totally convinced he’s the answer to Tottenham’s problems, but because he’s available and he’s got that experience with Chelsea, he will be on their list.
“From his point of view, I think there’s an element of doubt there as well.
“Even while he was at Chelsea, all of the talk was about him being in line for the Man City job if Pep leaves, and that’s not going to go away.

“I think he’s got his heart set on that move, so it wouldn’t surprise me if he waited until that opportunity came up rather than taking anything before then.
“If he goes to Tottenham now it’s going to make it harder to drop that and move to City in 18 months and I think that will play a big part in his decision.”
Thomas Frank sack update emerges at Tottenham
Tottenham have delayed a decision surrounding Frank’s long-term future at the club amid growing calls for him to be sacked after a dismal season.
However, Brown told Football Insider that Tottenham could be forced to sack Frank if they are dragged into a relegation battle through their poor league form.
Spurs have now dropped to 14th place in the league, just three points above Nottingham Forest in 17th, and are at risk of being dragged into a scrap.

Frank must now prepare to face Man City, Man United, Newcastle and Arsenal in his next four Premier League games which could decide his fate.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on 26 January that Frank will be sacked by Tottenham if they are dragged into a relegation battle in the near future.
