Odds slashed: Premier League club now favourite to sign Troy Parrott
Troy Parrott has emerged as one of the most wanted forwards in Europe after an unbelievable run of form so far this season.
The former Tottenham star has been excellent for AZ this campaign, netting 16 goals in 22 matches in all competitions.
However, his biggest moment of the campaign to date came for the Republic of Ireland, as Parrott netted five times in two games to ensure his nation qualified for the World Cup playoffs.
As a result, plenty of Premier League sides are eyeing Parrott, with Leeds previously in pole position.
However, it appears that West Ham are now the favourites to sign the attacker, with the bookies making the Premier League outfit the favourite.
West Ham now 6/1 to sign Troy Parrott
West Ham are in dire need of a new striker, especially now Niclas Fullkrug has gone to AC Milan on loan.
The Hammers are currently on course for relegation, with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side four points off safety.
Therefore, the signing of a striker in January could prove to be the difference between Premier League survival and relegation.

Now, according to one bookmaker, the Hammers are the favourites to sign the Republic of Ireland striker if he were to leave this month.
West Ham have been linked to Parrott before and are now just 6/1 to bring the attacker to the London Stadium.
Oddschecker on 3 January have confirmed these odds have been slashed, making the Premier League side the clear favourite.

However, Parrott remaining at the Dutch club remains the most likely scenario post-January, with AZ 4/11 to keep hold of their star man.
How good is Parrott?
According to Fotmob on 3 January, Parrott is simply an excellent striker.
The attacker’s stats are phenomenal, averaging 0.92 goals, 4.51 shots and a 0.98 xG per game.
Troy Parrott’s stats in the Eredivisie this season Per 90 minutes Goals 0.92 Shots 4.51 xG 0.98 Dribble success rate 70% Touches in opposition box 7.99 Penalties awarded 0.41 Passing accuracy 72.9%
Therefore, if West Ham were to bring in the striker, he could transform their front line and ensure that the Hammers keep their heads above water going into the second half of the campaign.
However, the challenge for Nuno will be to convince Parrott to move to the London Stadium, especially given their current position in the table.
