Paul Onuachu on course to break Trabzonspor all-time goals record
Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu is on course to become Trabzonspor's highest-scoring foreigner in a single Süper Lig campaign, Soccernet.ng reports.
Onuachu completed a permanent transfer to Trabzonspor from Southampton last summer and has since taken the Süper Lig by storm.
This season, he has netted 18 goals and provided two assists in just 21 league games. In fact, Onuachu has been involved in 41.67% of the Black Sea Storm's league goals—a clear testament to his importance.

His brilliance has helped the club climb to third in the table, giving them an outside chance of sneaking into the title race.
In terms of goal contributions, this season is shaping up to be Onuachu's best since the 2020/21 campaign, when he recorded 33 goals and four assists for Genk in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League.
Meanwhile, he is closing in on a historic record for Trabzonspor. According to Turkish outlet Takagazete, the Super Eagles star is just eight goals away from becoming the highest-scoring foreign player in the club's history for a single season.

He is chasing Georgian legend Shota Arveladze, who scored 25 goals in 34 appearances during the 1995/96 season.
Surpassing this mark would be a massive milestone, cementing his name in the Trabzonspor history books.
Can Paul Onuachu Keep Scoring for Trabzonspor?
As noted, Onuachu has been in scintillating form this season. He has shown an elite ability to eke out goals even from the tightest positions.
This term, he leads the Turkish top flight in headed goals with seven, while also proving he is equally clinical with his feet.

Some of his strikes have been simply spectacular; it is no surprise he has claimed the Goal of the Month award multiple times this season.
Trabzonspor's run-in until the end of the season is relatively favorable, as they face only one team currently above them—Galatasaray.
Additionally, half of their next ten games will be played in front of their home supporters, providing Onuachu with the perfect platform to maintain his scoring momentum.
Should the league leaders, Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe, falter, Onuachu’s goals could potentially propel Trabzonspor toward a dramatic Süper Lig title charge.
