Podcaster backs Everton to offer new contract to 'brilliant' star as recent game time assessed
Everton could soon move to tie down the future of Idrissa Gueye.
The Senegal international has been a regular at the Hill Dickinson Stadium for many years, and that has continued under David Moyes this campaign.
He has been a constant alongside James Garner in the midfield when the Toffees have been at their best in one of the Blues’ strongest areas of the pitch.
The 36-year-old was a massive miss when he travelled to AFCON, but has returned to maintain his place in the side under Moyes.
Gueye could have his eye on an Everton exit in the coming months as his contract now gets discussed ahead of the summer.

Idrissa Gueye could agree one-year contract extension at Everton
The ex-Aston Villa man penned a new contract on Merseyside just under 12 months ago as he agreed a new one-year contract in the summer of 2025.
That includes an option for a further year, and it appears likely that the Blues will make good on that part of the deal.
Gueye continues to be a useful asset for Moyes and Co., so keeping hold of him makes sense moving into next season.
Toffee TV host Barry Cass has suggested that the midfielder will get another year after a top-quality return from AFCON.
He said: “I still think he’s brilliant, but I do accept that we’re going to have to use him less. I think there are some games that he shouldn’t have played. Only really against Newcastle and Burnley, he was getting back to the levels he was before AFCON.
“Personally, I would have rested him in one of those games. He’s a player who has been an outstanding piece of business by Everton on two occasions. I don’t know whether or not he’ll get another year, I suspect he will.”
Moyes may be too reliant on Gueye at Everton, but there’s no doubt that keeping him around would be wise for the L4 outfit.
Gueye stay will benefit James Garner
Although Cass seems a bit unsure whether the Senegalese ace should be starting, he does provide useful qualities on Merseyside.
That is especially the case alongside Garner, who is given new freedoms by Gueye, starting alongside him in the middle of the park.
It gives the ex-Manchester United man and midfield colleague, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, the freedom to get forward and showcase his qualities to get on the scoresheet in Blue.

That appears to be a reason in itself to keep Gueye on Merseyside, especially with the option there to give him a new contract.
