Premier League drop in-game announcement on Everton incident vs Liverpool today
Everton‘s clash with Liverpool proved controversial, and the Premier League have made an announcement.
David Moyes side wanted to go within two points of their local rivals in the first Merseyside Derby at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
There was a lot of fire in the 19 April contest, and one of the early controversies was when Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall went down in the penalty area.
However, perhaps the biggest incident was when Iliman Ndiaye‘s goal was ruled out, as Jake O’Brien was deemed to be offside.
Everton fans and Moyes were incensed at the decision, and the league have responded to the incident.

What did the Premier League say about Ndiaye incident?
Kavanagh is not Everton’s favourite referee, especially as he was the one who booked Moyes for celebrating the last-gasp draw with Brighton in January.
The league clarified why the goal was not given in a statement released while the match was ongoing.
Speaking via their Match Centre account on X, they said: “VAR checked the referee’s call of goal – and established that O’Brien was in an offside position and recommended that the goal was disallowed.”
Everton used the setback to get back in the game
The Blues were the better team for much of the first half, and they used the disappointment to get themselves back in the game.
Unfortunately, it was the right decision, but that does not make it hurt any less, given that it could have set the Toffees on their way to a memorable victory.
They found themselves a goal behind due to Mohamed Salah’s ninth Merseyside Derby strike but came up with a response.
League Position Games played GD Points 5.) Liverpool 33 +11 55 6.) Chelsea 33 +11 48 7.) Brentford 33 +4 48 8.) Everton 33 +2 48 9.) Bournemouth 33 0 48 10.) Brighton 33 +6 47
Hopefully, Moyes must have got the players hyped up in the half-time break, and they can now use the momentum as fuel to pull off something magical.
If they could, it would do their European hopes the world of good, and if they could get three points, it would leave them in touching distance of Arne Slot’s side.
An added bonus may well be that it could put the Dutchman’s position in the Anfield dugout under threat, but it would require a big push in the final stages.
With the intense atmosphere in L3, though, anything can happen, and the hosts cannot lose hope of getting the required result, they are level.
