Randal Kolo Muani exit latest as late Jean-Philippe Mateta transfer news emerges from Tottenham
Randal Kolo Muani’s loan move to Tottenham hasn’t worked out.
Kolo Muani signed for Tottenham on a season-long loan deal from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer transfer window, bolstering Thomas Frank‘s forward options.
However, Kolo Muani didn’t make the best first impression with Spurs fans when he revealed in an interview with Tottenham shortly after signing that the first football shirt he ever owned was Thierry Henry’s.
With Kolo Muani being French, it was a forgivable admission, but since then, he’s failed to do an awful lot to redeem himself with the Spurs faithful.

Randal Kolo Muani Tottenham recall truth revealed
Kolo Muani has failed to hit the back of the net in 15 Premier League appearances for Tottenham this season and has also been unable to provide an assist in the league either.
He has, however, bagged three goals in the Champions League as well as two assists, but unfortunately, he just hasn’t been able to translate his European form to his domestic game.

Given his struggles in English football, coupled with the fact he’s now 27 and needs to be playing regularly and scoring goals, it’s been strongly suggested that PSG will recall Kolo Muani before the 2 February deadline.
However, that no longer appears to be the case, as per Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge via X on Thursday, he states that Tottenham have no interest in cutting his loan deal short this winter.
Bridge reports that whilst his former side, Juventus, are keen on bringing him back to Serie A, Spurs aren’t willing to let the striker leave N17 at present.
Kolo Muani scored 10 times in 22 total appearances for Juventus whilst on loan there during the second half of last season.
And, with Luciano Spalletti’s strike department in the midst of an injury crisis, it’s no surprise to see a desire to see him back in Turin, but Juve may have to wait until the summer to pursue another deal.
Jean-Philippe Mateta’s role in Tottenham’s firm Kolo Muani stance
It’s been revealed that Tottenham internally discussed signing Jean-Philippe Mateta before the winter window opened, and rumours have once again been flying that Spurs could make a move for him.
As such, some Spurs fans have been putting two and two together, with a possible Kolo Muani recall paving the way for Mateta to sign on at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
However, those fans may not be onto something there after all, as Bridges also stated that he’s of the understanding that there’s nothing in the Mateta to Spurs rumours.
That won’t be what many Tottenham fans will want to hear, as they cross their fingers and hope their side’s winter business isn’t done with just the arrivals of Conor Gallagher and Souza, respectively.
