Rangers agree third multi-year contract with rising star set for Danny Rohl shot - report
Rangers youngster Luca Rankin has penned a new contract with the Scottish giants despite transfer interest from English clubs.
Auchenhowie academy product Rankin has been involved in first-team training for Rangers this season, with Danny Rohl said to admire the youngster.
Having a strong academy can make a team millions further down the road, and Rangers will hope their latest crop of up-and-comers can make the grade at Ibrox.
Youth products Kyle Glasgow and Ashton Scally recently extended their stay at the Gers, who are eager to give some of their rising stars a chance to test themselves at the first-team level.
Now, Rangers have retained Rankin despite a substantial amount of interest in the teenager.
🚨 RANGERS TRANSFER UPDATE 🚨
The latest breaking news on signings, departures, and Danny Röhl’s primary targets.
Rangers owners investing in the future
The 15-year-old happens to be the son of former Hibernian and Dundee United player John Rankin, who is currently interim boss at Ayr United.
Rankin can play in defence and midfield and has played for Scotland’s Under-15s and Rangers’ B team.

Now, according to The Rangers Review and Chris Jack, Rankin has signed his first professional contract with the Glasgow outfit.
The report adds he has penned a three-year deal, and like Glasgow and Scally, the youngster will be given the chance to push towards Rohl’s squad next season.
They could be ones to watch in the very near future.
Rangers turn to immediate future
While Rangers may be able to develop some academy gems, for the here and now, their focus is very much on trying to secure their first league title since 2021.
After a remarkable 6-3 comeback win over Falkirk before the post-split fixtures, Rangers seemed well-positioned to overtake Hearts at the top of the table.
But Rangers’ shock 3-2 loss at home to Motherwell has potentially scuppered their Scottish Premiership dreams before they started.
It really is do or die for Rangers on Monday when they travel to Hearts, and anything other than a win may mean curtains for the Gers.
