Rangers fans issue Kevin Thelwell apology after what ‘sensational’ star did vs Aberdeen: ‘I’m sorry I was wrong’
Rangers fans are backtracking on their previous statements towards Kevin Thelwell after their victory over Aberdeen on Sunday.
The Gers triumphed 2-0 at Pittodrie to keep the gap between themselves and Hearts to just three points at the top of the Premiership table, as all of the top three tasted victory across the weekend.
Danny Rohl has firmly turned fortunes around at Ibrox in recent weeks, after a disastrous start to the season, which many Rangers fans felt Thelwell was to blame for, alongside Russell Martin.
The Glasgow giants parted company with their former recruitment chief back in November, but fans arw now accepting that they are being made to eat their words on him of late.

Emmanuel Fernandez displays prompt Kevin Thelwell apology
Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider in October that Rangers had major concerns over Thelwell after his summer recruitment, and they ultimately acted and showed him the door.
That sentiment was shared by the fans, who had quickly grown frustrated with several of the former Everton chief’s acquisitions before the season got underway.
However, Emmanuel Fernandez’s recent performances have now prompted some supporters to issue an apology to Thelwell, after the centre-back scored again in the win over Aberdeen.
The 24-year-old now has four goals in 13 Premiership games for Rohl’s men, and he has become one of the first names on the teamsheet in recent weeks.
Supporters took to X to share their delight at his latest display, with one fan saying: “Thelwell I’m sorry. I was wrong Fernandez is absolutely class,” while another suggested: “Maybe Thelwell wasn’t as bad as we made out.”
One fan also suggested that the defender was beginning to prove why Rangers paid out £3million to sign him a few months ago, while it was also noted that he is getting “better and better.”
- @RangersSocial72: “Fernandez has been outstanding since coming into the team.”
- @LetsTalkGers: “Manny Fernandez, again. Sensational.”
- @SpecksRSC: “Manny Fernandez is a bargain.”
Fernandez has finished Nasser Dijga at Rangers
Nasser Djiga’s displays for Rangers have been heavily criticised by fans so far this season, and the Wolves loanee is going to find it difficult to get back into the starting XI with the way that Fernandez is playing.
The centre-back has been away at AFCON with Burkina Faso, where he failed to play a single minute, and he was then left on the bench by Rohl upon his return to his club side on Sunday.
The 23-year-old has looked naive and error-prone at times since his arrival, two things that simply cannot be attributed to Fernandez at all of late.
He and John Souttar are already on their way towards forming a formidable partnership at the heart of the backline, and with that in mind, they have effectively already finished Djiga at Ibrox.
Rangers have no need to cancel his loan this month, given that they need the cover, but it would be no surprise if Djiga remains on the fringes of the team until his departure next summer.
