Rangers make 'significant' seven-figure bid to seal new loan signing - report

Rangers are stepping up their attempts to bring Wolfsburg’s Andreas Skov Olsen to Ibrox.

Andrew Cavenagh is splashing the cash for Danny Rohl in January, as the Bears have already announced the signing of Tochi Chukwuani, with Tuur Rommens next on the agenda.

Rohl has the Bears sitting in a healthy spot in the Scottish Premiership after another 2-0 win over Aberdeen on Sunday.

Cavenagh will most likely see January as a huge chance to aid the Gers boss in a push for the title.

Rangers want to bring Olsen to Ibrox as soon as they can, and are taking the next steps to acquire the long-admired winger.

Rangers offer Wolfsburg loan fee for Andreas Skov Olsen

Rangers’ interest in Skov Olsen dates back to 2022 as the Bears fell short in a battle with Club Brugge to sign the Dane from Bologna.

The 26-year-old has continued to improve over the years, as the stars look to be aligning for an inevitable move to the Gers.

According to Scott Burns on Sunday, Rangers have now lodged a “significant” seven-figure bid to seal a loan move for the Wolfsburg forward.

This would be a loan fee that the Bears would have to pay the German outfit for Skov Olsen‘s services for the remainder of the season.

Wolfsburg made the attacker’s move permanent this summer for £12million, and would most likely seek a similar fee at the end of this campaign if Rangers wish to keep Skov Olsen beyond the 2025-26 season.

Oliver Antman now left in the dark at Rangers

Oliver Antman has been out with an injury since the end of November, but made his return to Rohl’s matchday squad against Aberdeen.

The winger was unable to get some minutes off the bench and will be hoping to turn what has been an underwhelming time in Glasgow around.

Antman’s record for Rangers

Rangers paid big money for Antman in the summer, as Skov Olsen’s potential arrival could get the best out of the former.

Both would have to compete for a starting spot at right wing under Rohl, with Antman’s future at Ibrox now in his own hands.
