Kieran Dowell’s time at Rangers is coming to an end.

Danny Rohl has been blessed with the backing of Andrew Cavenagh this month, with the Gers wrapping up deals for Andreas Skov Olsen, Tochi Chukwuani, and Tuur Rommens.

However, Rangers must also let players go to balance the books at Ibrox, with Rohl looking at offloading multiple stars.

Dowell has been in talks over a permanent move to Championship side Hull City in a 267-mile switch from Glasgow.

Now, it looks like the deal is all but done.

Kieran Dowell set for Hull City medical

Dowell has struggled for minutes since Rohl’s arrival, but showed he still has quality by scoring in Rangers’ 5-0 win over Annan Athletic on Friday.

The Bears signed the winger on a free deal back in the summer of 2023, but things just haven’t worked out for all parties.

According to Hull Live on Thursday, Hull City are set to confirm the permanent signing of Dowell, after weeks of attempts to conclude a deal with the Gers.

The versatile forward is now in East Yorkshire to complete his move.

It’s not yet known how much Rangers could bank from the sale, but regardless, it’s a transfer that needed to be sanctioned.

Dowell’s record against Hull City is ridiculous

Dowell has been a fairly decent success during his previous time in England, which is most likely what tempted the Bears to make a move after his deal with Norwich City expired in 2023.

The Englishman played for Nottingham Forest, Wigan Athletic, Derby County, and Sheffield United in the Championship, and will be looking for more success there with his move to Hull.

Dowell has scored 38 goals in his professional career, but almost a fifth of them came against the side he is bound to join.

With Wigan and Nottingham Forest, he managed to bag two separate hat-tricks against the Tigers, as their supporters won’t have great memories of playing against their own potential signing.

The 28-year-old has scored 18.4 per cent of his career goals against Hull, but the Tigers will be hoping it’s them who he can do the damage for now.
