'Showing real intent' - Alan Hutton reacts after what Rangers do at Ibrox vs Annan

Bojan Miovski gave Rangers an early lead against Annan Athletic in the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup on Friday.

Ibrox hosts Wullie Gibson’s team on 16 January as the Gers aim to qualify beyond the fourth round of the competition.

Last season, Queen’s Park knocked Philippe Clement’s team out of the Scottish Cup, with the Light Blues losing 1-0 in the fifth round.

After a period of instability at the Glaswegian outfit, Danny Rohl has turned the tide, and the club’s hierarchy have also made a statement off the pitch.

Andreas Skov Olsen and others unveiled at Ibrox prior to Rangers vs Annan Athletic kick-off

Andreas Skov Olsen passed his Rangers medical on Friday and was subsequently unveiled alongside Tochi Chukwuani and Tuur Rommens before kick-off against Annan.

The Gers’ three new winter window signings graced Ibrox, with fans given the first glimpses of the new players at Rohl’s disposal.

Alan Hutton has been left impressed with the Light Blues’ business so far in January, and it will certainly give them a big boost in the William Hill Premiership title race.

Speaking on Premier Sports 2 on 16 January, the former Scotland international said, “It’s showing real intent from Rangers to understand that there’s an opportunity here to go and win a league, and the profile of player they’ve brought in, I feel like that’s what they’ve been screaming out for at the start of the season.”

Hutton added, “Somebody with experience who can come and be a game changer, make things happen. That’s a guy who’s got 40 caps for his country. They’ve struggled on the right since maybe Cerny has left. But this could be the guy to fill that void.”

Skov Olsen will wear the number seven shirt at Ibrox, and supporters will be expecting the mercurial talent to live up to expectations in the coming months to convert the loan deal into a permanent one.

Danny Rohl to scrap Ibrox transfer plans after first-half vs Annan Athletic

Bojan Miovski has struggled for consistency at Ibrox, but the North Macedonia international got a brace in the opening 45 minutes against Annan.

Rangers have struggled to bring the best out of their number nines this season, but it looks like the former Girona ace and Youssef Chermiti are slowly starting to turn the tide.

While fans may want to see the Light Blues add a new striker to their ranks before the 2 February deadline, Rohl could potentially hold off on any additional recruits up front.

The German manager is expected to sign more players in the coming weeks, but a centre-forward may not be a priority.
