Sources: Arsenal, Chelsea and Crystal Palace scout Hearts gem in Scotland Under-19s game

Arsenal, Chelsea & Crystal Palace sent scouts to watch Hearts starlet Alfie Osborne captain Scotland Under-19s against the Republic of Ireland, sources have told Football Insider.

The 6ft, 5in centre-back is out of contract at Hearts this summer and could be available for £160k compensation.

He was in action on Saturday, 28 March, as the Scots drew 3-3 with Ireland, with the scouts of three Premier League clubs in attendance to watch his performance.

The 17-year-old has yet to make his first-team debut under Derek McInnes at Tynecastle Park, but it would appear that the teenager already has a lot of suitors ahead of the summer transfer window.

What should fans know about Alfie Osborne?

Already an imposing centre-half at 17 years of age, Osborne is attracting a lot of attention, and he is also very versatile, which makes him even more impressive.

The youngster is capable of playing at left-back, as well as the centre of midfield, but he has mostly been used in the centre of defence by Hearts’ Under-18s this season.

He is clearly not afraid of leading a team, taking the captain’s armband on the international stage, including the six-goal thriller with Ireland this weekend.

It is abundantly clear why three Premier League clubs have already made moves to learn more about the talented gem, but it remains to be seen which of them will finalise a deal.

Tottenham already make move to sign talented teenager

Arsenal, Chelsea and Palace are not the only clubs planning for the future, with Tottenham soon to add another talented gem to their academy this summer.

Football Insider revealed earlier this month that Tottenham have agreed a fee for Darim Tchadjobo of Forest Green Rovers, fending off plenty of interest to secure a deal.

The draw of potentially one day playing for a Premier League club is enough to persuade any teenager to make a switch, and Osborne has multiple clubs vying for his signature when his contract expires.
