'They were terrible' - Tam McManus can't believe what he hears Rangers fan say about Rohl

Tam McManus believes Danny Rohl will be in charge of Rangers next season no matter what happens at Ibrox in the coming months.

There have been some suggestions from Gers supporters that the German manager shouldn’t continue in Govan if he drops further down the William Hill Premiership table and is knocked out by Celtic in the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup quarter-final on 8 March.

McManus feels the former Sheffield Wednesday has come in and turned a terrible situation around at the Light Blues and deserves a chance to continue in the Ibrox dugout.

Martin O’Neill’s team will return to G51 after coming back from two goals behind to get a 2-2 draw in the league in what will be a big test for Rohl.

Danny Rohl has one major question to answer at Rangers

Russell Martin’s stint at the Gers was surely an anomaly, with the former Southampton boss leading them to their worst league start in over 40 years.

Rohl came in and brought stability at Ibrox, with the Light Blues losing just one of their 21 league games under him.

While the German manager has steadied the ship at the Glaswegian outfit, fans haven’t really seen their team dominate the big games, apart from the 4-2 win over Hearts.

There’s been criticism from supporters regarding the Govan side’s underwhelming displays, dropping crucial points in recent matches, and their record in the Europa League wasn’t the best even after the change in the dugout.

Speaking on PLZ Soccer on 6 March, McManus said, “I just think as a Rangers supporter that’s crazy if you think that. I think he’s come in and done really really well. I think they were terrible at the start of the season. They were miles off it. He’s got them into contention by winning games.”

“No matter where Rangers finish this season, I think he’ll get the start of next season. He has to because he’s come in and improved the team.”

Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises given food for thought at Ibrox

Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises haven’t been shy about putting their money where their mouth is since taking over at the Gers.

Rangers backed Rohl in the winter transfer window by signing Tuur Rommens, Tochi Chukwuani, Andreas Skov Olsen and Ryan Naderi.

The American owners will clearly have expectations from the German manager to win the William Hill Premiership after spending a hefty sum on fresh faces.

If Rohl doesn’t manage to have a decent end to the campaign, Cavenagh and the 49ers may be given a reason to contemplate his future in G51 if fans in Govan turn on him.
