‘Time to go’ – Chelsea fans want Robert Sanchez to ‘rot on the bench’ after what Liam Rosenior said

Liam Rosenior may have ended Robert Sanchez’s Chelsea career after leaving the first-choice goalkeeper out against Aston Villa.

Filip Jorgensen was trusted between the sticks as the Blues ran out 4-1 winners at Villa Park on Wednesday, 4 March, with the switch of shot-stoppers a total surprise to the fans.

Many assumed that Sanchez had picked up an injury, one which hadn’t been covered by the media, but the manager was keen to make it known that Jorgensen had earned his spot in the team.

Chelsea must upgrade some key positions once the summer transfer window rolls around, with goalkeeper being one of them, and it could bring an end to Sanchez’s time at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea fans are up in arms as Robert Sanchez ‘disappointed’

Rosenior has revealed publicly that Sanchez was “really disappointed” to be dropped against Villa, and while the manager was happy with the reaction, supporters are not so forgiving.

One supporter believes now is “time to go” for the Spaniard, with another calling for him to “rot on the bench” after Rosenior made the decision to bench him, and what a fair one it was.

Some of the reaction has been a lot harsher. Some have called for the goalkeeper to be sold, saying that he should “be gone by next season,” which a lot of fans agree with.

Which other players should Liam Rosenior get rid of?

Despite splashing the cash and building one of the strongest squads in the Premier League, the Blues still have multiple weak spots, which require addressing in the summer.

Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez and Andrey Santos are three extremely talented midfielders, with Joao Pedro and Cole Palmer creating a lot of goals in the final third.

Beyond Reece James, Wesley Fofana, Marc Cucurella and several injured stars, like Estevao, the other positions are totally up for grabs.

Liam Delap is already linked with an exit, while Malo Gusto, Romeo Lavia, Tosin Adarabioyo and Benoit Badiashile are all deemed not good enough for the West London outfit, at least by the fans.

Rosenior still has plenty of work to do to turn the current team into a Premier League-winning squad. It all starts this summer for the manager.
