Tottenham already have Fabio Paratici replacement plan as departure date announced

Fabio Paratici will leave Tottenham to join Fiorentina just four months after rejoining the North London club.

Paratici’s exit from Tottenham has been rumoured for some time, but it has now been officially confirmed that he will depart in February, following the conclusion of the January transfer window.

The 53-year-old only returned to Spurs in October, when his 30-month FIFA ban expired, but the Lilywhites are now already searching for his replacement.

However, the North London outfit may have a different idea in mind to cope without the expertise of their sporting director.

No guarantee of Fabio Paratici replacement

Paratici has been working with fellow sporting director Johan Lange and CEO Vinai Venkatesham since he rejoined Tottenham.

The control at Spurs is noticeably more spread out following Daniel Levy’s shock departure back in September, with a more collaborative approach to running the football club being utilised.

Rather than Levy being the sole person responsible for transfers and recruitment, the whole hierarchy are working together with Thomas Frank to bring players in.

According to Sky Sports, it is not certain that Tottenham will even hire a replacement for Paratici when he leaves, instead spreading his workload across the rest of the management structure.

It is also reported that the Italian leaves on good terms, despite the fact that some feel he has betrayed the trust of the North London outfit.

Fabio Paratici has failed to repay Tottenham’s faith

Paratici originally left Tottenham back in April 2023, forced out by a two-and-a-half-year FIFA ban relating to his time at Juventus.

The Italian giants were found guilty of false accounting between 2019 and 2021, with Paratici being attributed some of the blame.

Despite his reputation taking a huge hit, the Lilywhites stuck by the 53-year-old, keeping him on in an advisory role during his ban.

Tottenham then immediately welcomed Paratici back in after the 30-month absence, showing incredible loyalty to a man who had been charged with breaching FIFA regulations.

However, that loyalty has not been repaid in the opposite direction, and the Italian has jumped ship at the first opportunity to move to Fiorentina.

Spurs are already a club in chaos, and this debacle will do little to settle the situation in North London.
