Tottenham fan fury reaches new peak after Dane Scarlett latest – ‘Christ Almighty’
Tottenham supporters were hoping to see Dane Scarlett involved in the first-team.
Scarlett is highly rated at Tottenham, and has made five appearances in the senior side so far this season under Thomas Frank.
Frank’s leadership has come under significant scrutiny, with Spurs languishing in 14th place in the Premier League.
The latest on his future has left supporters more furious than they previously were about the state of the club.
Where is Dane Scarlett going?
Scarlett has been tipped as the next Harry Kane at Spurs, and it seems he is set to follow the Bayern Munich star’s path to stardom with another loan.
Tottenham announced on X that the 21-year-old has joined Scottish Premiership outfit Hibernian on loan until the end of the campaign.
They wished the young striker good luck for his temporary switch away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Why are Tottenham supporters so angry about Scarlett exit?
Scarlett’s exit is a huge problem for supporters as Spurs are still in the middle of an injury crisis, especially in their attacking ranks.
Dominic Solanke has not long returned from a serious issue, which kept him out a long time, and it may be disastrous if he reinjures himself.
That would leave Randal Kolo Muani as the only recognised striker on the books, as Richarlison, who started the season in great form, is out for the foreseeable future.
Fans are rightfully angry, with many demanding a new addition now that the youngster has been allowed to depart, as Frank’s squad has been left lacking.
One supporter took to X, saying: “Our squad is thin and you send yet another player out on loan! This club is a joke.”
Another fan said: “At this rate you’ll have to start putting fans on the bench.”
Another also spoke out, saying: “We have 4 attackers at the club. On bring of relegation fight. What on earth are we doing.”
It may well prove the right decision to loan out Scarlett in the long-run, as he will gain significant experience and hopefully score a lot of goals in Scotland, but it does not mean that supporters are happy about it.
The atmosphere in N17 is still shaky, and a lack of action in the market, while letting potential options leave on loan, will only increase tensions.
The board need to listen and bring in another attacker before the 2 February deadline, or the fanbase may become the most disillusioned that they have been in recent months.
