Tottenham fans applaud Ben Davies as landmark 100th Wales cap recognised – ‘Legend’
Tottenham Hotspur fans hailed Ben Davies after the defender was recognised by Wales for making 100 appearances for his country.
Davies reached the landmark figure in October when leading out Wales in their 4-2 defeat to Belgium at Cardiff City Stadium.
The 32-year-old is just the fourth player to reach a century of caps for Wales, along with Gareth Bale, Chris Gunter and Wayne Hennessey – two of whom are of course well known to Spurs fans.
Davies was presented with a ‘Golden Cap’ by Wales legend Cliff Jones ahead of Thursday’s World Cup qualifying playoff loss to Bosnia-Herzegovina.
While there is uncertainty over Davies’ future in N17 beyond this summer, there is no question that the long-serving defender still has the respect of every supporter for his longevity.

Ben Davies asked to ‘save’ Tottenham
Davies is currently out injured and was therefore unable to play any part in Wales’ bitterly disappointing home loss to Bosnia.
But it was still a special night for the Neath native as he was handed the special accolade on the pitch.

Tottenham shared images via their official social media platforms, to which the praise to Davies was universal from supporters.
One fan called for Spurs to ensure Davies stays on in a coaching role when he does eventually call time on his career.
Another simply said: “Save us Ben. We love you.”
What is likely to be next for Davies and Tottenham?
Davies is due to be out of contract at Tottenham this summer, which means he will become a free agent as things stand.
Should Tottenham manage to stay in the Premier League, it seems very likely Davies will move on at the end of the campaign.

If that is the case, as mentioned by a fan above, Spurs need to ensure they offer Davies the chance to return down the line to help out in some way.
However, Davies will only be 33 next month and he therefore does still have some years ahead of him – even if he does seem to have been around for a lifetime.
And if Spurs are plying their trade in the Championship – something that does not even bear thinking about – there is every chance Davies could have a part to play in the second tier.
For now, the former Swansea City ace will just focus on returning to action so that he can help his country and club – whoever that may be when he returns – as soon as possible.
