Trent Alexander-Arnold utilising secret fitness tool in bid for England World Cup spot
Trent Alexander-Arnold has endured a difficult opening season at Real Madrid since his move from Liverpool last summer.
The right-back left on a cut-price deal just weeks before the end of his contract at Anfield, fuelling anger among fans of his boyhood club.
The England international was with Liverpool throughout the entirety of his career before last summer, making over 350 appearances and winning the Premier League twice.
Alexander-Arnold has had several considerable injuries to deal with this season, and now faces an uphill battle to make it to Thomas Tuchel’s England World Cup squad.
The former Liverpool man was missing from the last squad and will need a stunning end to the season to have any chance.

Wearable fitness gadget behind Trent Alexander-Arnold aims
Cody Gakpo is using a tool called WHOOP – a wearable technology made to monitor sleep, stress, strain, recovery and much more – to optimise his fitness and strive for the next level.
And the Liverpool forward is not the only one. Captain Virgil van Dijk is a long-term ambassador for the device, which he partially credits with the incredible capacity for minutes he has shown throughout his career.
Trent Alexander-Arnold Stats – La Liga 2025-26 Appearances 17 Assists 4 Chances created 21 Successful crosses 24 Recoveries 38 Duels won 19
If we are talking about capacity for a strenuous number of appearances, however, who else in history is there to talk about other than Cristiano Ronaldo?
The former Real Madrid and Juventus legend is an official partner of WHOOP, and has been using it for years.
Alexander-Arnold is another user of the technology, which constantly monitors the way the user’s body reacts to various stimuli, offering detailed advice for optimisation and recovery.
The right-back has been heavily affected by injuries this season, and will hope improved recovery via WHOOP can help avoid recurring problems.
Alexander-Arnold’s chances of making it to the World Cup depend on it, with Tuchel needing to be convinced in the coming weeks.
Alexander-Arnold starting to enjoy his football again
It has not been an easy season for Alexander-Arnold or Real Madrid as a team, with Xabi Alonso’s exit in January the result of a tumultuous atmosphere at the Bernabeu.
But in recent weeks, the defender has looked to begin to display the qualities that made him so loved at Anfield.
The England international provided hope for Real Madrid as they narrowly lost to Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final last month, assisting brilliantly for Kylian Mbappe.
He did the same for Vinicius Junior’s winner in the Madrid derby in March, displaying his phenomenal passing ability.
Alexander-Arnold’s spot on the plane to North America appears to be a long shot, but he will not stop fighting until the season is over.
