View: Djeidi Gassama could be finished at Ibrox after latest Rangers transfer update
Djeidi Gassama’s future at Rangers has been up in the air for some time now.
The Frenchman emerged as one of the immediate winners from Danny Rohl’s Ibrox arrival earlier in the season, due to their time together at Sheffield Wednesday.
However, it’s been anything but smooth sailing for Gassama, who has been unable to provide consistent attacking returns for the Gers.
Villarreal have rumoured interest in Gassama, who only came to Glasgow in the summer, but the winger’s Rangers exit could be on the cards if he is to be replaced by another man.
Rangers’ interest in Andreas Skov Olsen spells the end for Djeidi Gassama
Rangers have been heavily linked with Andreas Skov Olsen on Monday, with a potential loan move from Wolfsburg now seemingly on.
The Bears have a long-standing admiration for the right-winger, and his current situation in Germany is one that Andrew Cavenagh and Co. are looking to capitalise on.
Although Skov Olsen has failed to make a mark since moving from Club Brugge to Wolfsburg in 2024, his time in Belgium will be what really attracts the Gers.

Looking at a detailed analysis of how Gassama has performed this campaign, it’s clear as day to see why the Gers would be keen to cash in on the forward so early.

Statistical examination of Gassama at Rangers
Gassama seemed like the signing of the window at first, emerging as key under Russell Martin in the early stages of the season.
But the 22-year-old’s form quickly tailed off, and after 22 games in the Scottish Premiership, he still only finds himself with one league goal.

As highlighted by Sofascore, Gassama averages 2.32 shots per game, which ranks the second highest among left-wingers in the league.
Mikey Moore has now cemented his spot at left wing, with Gassama now forced out on the right, as the latter trails behind the likes of Jayden Meghoma and James Tavernier in the assists department.
But with Oliver Antman returning, and Skov Olsen close to joining Rangers, Cavenagh may be tempted to make a quick profit on the winger.
The Bears will no doubt be in the market for more forwards, and Gassama’s sale seems not only sensible but smart at this point.
