View: Everton handed clear pathway on CL club duo as dominoes fall in contract talks

Everton have been linked with signing both Fenerbahce’s Jhon Duran and Youssef En-Nesyri.

David Moyes could let Beto go in the final stages of the transfer window, but the Toffees will need to sign a replacement.

Everton have had striker struggles this season, but Thierno Barry’s recent upturn in form has given the Blues more confidence.

Despite this, Everton still need another centre-forward to compete with the Frenchman, as Moyes has set his sights on En-Nesyri.

But he’s not the only Fenerbahce star that the Toffees have shortlisted ahead of Monday’s deadline, with their loanee Duran also in Everton’s thinking.

It will only be one of the pair that could possibly come to Merseyside in the coming days, and Everton may now have been forced into making a decision.

Fenerbahce will not let both Jhon Duran and Youssef En-Nesyri leave

Everton have been in a tug-of-war for En-Nesyri, who first emerged on the Toffees’ radar at the start of January.

The Blues remain interested in the Moroccan, but former Aston Villa striker Duran has cropped up in conversations in recent days.

Duran is currently with the Turkish side on loan from Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr side until the end of the season.

According to Doruk Tecimer’s update this Friday on X, Fenerbahce are unwilling to let both number nines depart in the remaining days of the window.

If Everton wanted to sign Duran, then the Toffees would have to negotiate with both Fenerbahce and Al Nassr to cut the Colombian’s stay in Turkey short.

But it looks like that may already be happening.

Talks underway for Duran’s loan termination with Fenerbahce

Everton could be going for Duran instead of En-Nesyri if recent reports are anything to go by.

According to Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, this Friday on X, Fenerbahce have started preliminary talks to terminate Duran’s loan.

Given that the centre-forward has been useful in the Super Lig this season, it surely only suggests that the termination will happen because he is set to join another club.

As reported earlier, Fenerbahce will not let both their forwards leave, which means that Everton’s move for En-Nesyri will be off the cards should Duran’s deal be terminated in the following days.

However, it could also imply that the reason for this is that Everton are going all out for the Al Nassr superstar.
