View: Everton have West Ham's number in East London - history books prove it

Everton have only lost three times in the Premier League away from home against West Ham United since 2007.

Reunions are in order this Saturday, as Everton boss David Moyes returns to his former employers West Ham.

The veteran manager is masterminding a brilliant season at Hill Dickinson Stadium, positioning his Toffees team to be in with a big chance of qualifying for European football for 2026-27.

However, their form has just hit a blip at the moment, with just one win from their last four Premier League games.

West Ham are next on Everton’s agenda, and the Hammers will pose a tricky test for Moyes’ men to navigate given they’re fighting for their lives at the foot of the division.

What is Everton’s Premier League away record vs West Ham?

Everton are slight favourites to beat West Ham, but Nuno Espirito Santo’s side will definitely be fancying their chances of three points as well.

Indeed, they’ve only lost once in their previous five league games, and that was in a 2-0 away defeat to Aston Villa which there’s no disgrace in whatsoever.

Aside from that, in that time they’ve enjoyed a big away win over Fulham, drawn with Man City, thumped Wolves 4-0 and picked up a solid point on the road at Crystal Palace last time out respectively.

In short, the Hammers are not going to be a pushover for Everton by any means, and Moyes’ side are going to have to be at their best if they want to emerge victorious.

However, the Toffees have largely loved their visits to East London down the years, with the history books chronicling this Premier League fixture proving so.

Everton have lost just three times from their last 17 Premier League away games against West Ham, which dates all the way back to December 2007.

In fact, two of those three losses in that time period have been inflicted from 2022 onwards, with Everton winning nine and drawing five respectively.

Everton have Karren Brady factor to contend with on Saturday

Earlier this week, it was announced that Baroness Karren Brady was stepping down as West Ham’s vice-chair after 16 years.

It’s well-known that Hammers fans have wanted boardroom change at their football club for a long time, and that included Brady.

Brady played a key role in overseeing West Ham’s hugely unpopular move from Upton Park to the London Stadium, whilst on-field performances have also seen the ownership group face significant criticism too.

Therefore, news of Brady’s exit has largely been met with relief by many Hammers fans, and so on top of it already being a big game for both sides, the atmosphere at the London Stadium could really be ramped up off the back of this too.

Make no mistake, this is going to be a big test for Everton.
