Adam Aznou has had a tough time at Everton, with the Moroccan defender getting limited minutes under David Moyes.

The signing of the left-back continues to make little sense, with Moyes ultimately refusing to give him a chance to prove himself.

As it stands, the Toffees are crying out for attacking fullbacks who can impact the game in the final third.

In the limited minutes Aznou has had, he has showcased he can be that style of player for the Merseyside outfit by changing the course of a game.

Now, while out on international duty, the 19-year-old has once again shown he could impact Everton’s games as he notched a goal.

Adam Aznou scores for Morocco Under-23s

Aznou has yet to make his Premier League debut, despite being in the squad on 21 occasions this season.

The left-back’s only minutes for the first team arrived in the FA Cup exit to Sunderland, in which he won a penalty in the dying moments to allow Everton to equalise.

After coming off the bench and making a positive impact, it is quite odd that the 19-year-old has not featured since.

He was provided a rare chance to prove himself, and in theory, he did. What more could have been asked of the Moroccan other than to help turn the game around?

Nonetheless, Aznou was likely looking forward to his international break, as it would give him a chance to finally play football.

The defender started for Morocco Under-23s and scored the first goal of the game as they drew 2-2 with Ivory Coast.

It is a moment that will certainly provide relief to Aznou, whom you wouldn’t blame for being rusty due to his lack of minutes.

The Everton star will be hoping Moyes was keeping tabs, as he showcased again that he has the qualities to be an attacking threat.

That threat down the flanks has been sorely lacking from the Toffees’ play this season. Vitalii Mykolenko and Jake O’Brien have just a combined two assists between them.

Why Aznou needs a loan away from Everton

At just 19 years old, Everton would be foolish to let a young talent like Aznou permanently leave, so a loan move would suit all parties.

Moyes clearly has no trust in the youngster, and that will only hamper his development as a player.

Additionally, Moyes’ potential new contract may push Aznou to leave.

If the Toffees can secure a move to a high-quality league, where the Moroccan can get regular game time, Moyes would be able to further assess him from afar.

Right now, it seems hard to see a route into the Scotsman’s plans in the immediate future.
